SMILE DESIGN

It is the process of giving a natural and beautiful appearance to the teeth whose appearance and alignment is distorted due to various reasons and the gums surrounding these teeth with various treatments.

In smile design applications, orthodontists, aesthetic dentists and gum disease specialists work in coordination in line with the needs of the patient. The methods applied as gingival surgery in smile design are gingivectomy and gingivoplasty.

Gingivectomy:

It is the surgical removal of gingival tissue. With gingivectomy, infected unhealthy gums due to any reason can be removed, as well as the borders of the gums that appear more than necessary during smiling aesthetically.

Gingivoplasti:

It is the shaping of healthy tissues around the teeth with aesthetic arrangements.

Prosthetic Methods in Smile Design:
Porcelain Laminate Veneer applications:

They are restorations made by thinning only the anterior surfaces of the teeth by 0.3-0.7 mm. The loss of tooth tissue is minimal. Laminated veneer porcelains are adhered to this thinned area with appropriate agents. Colored teeth that do not result in whitening, broken or worn teeth, teeth with discolored fillings, or adjacent teeth that are structurally smaller than they should be, and teeth with spaces between them are suitable for laminate veneer construction. They are advantageous treatments in terms of being robust, restorations that do not change color due to external factors such as tea, coffee, cigarettes, and with minimal or no tooth loss during construction.

Zirconium Crowns:

It is a system used in the restoration of teeth with excess material loss, where the filling process and laminate veneer crown are insufficient.
Zirconium crown covers all surfaces of the tooth.
Attachment to the tooth is provided with adhesives suitable for the crown and tooth surface.
Zirconium, full ceramic crowns provide the closest appearance to the natural tooth

Bonding (Aesthetic Filling Applications):

Composite filling materials have been used in dental practice for many years. Since the developments in its bonding to the tooth tissue and its compatibility with the tissue are increasing day by day, the application areas are quite wide. Although it is not as satisfactory as porcelain applications, it provides the desired aesthetics to our patients for many years since it is applied according to the suitability of the case.

Porcelain Fillings (Inlay - Onlay - Overlay):

It is the process of preparing the filling of the teeth that cannot be restored in the clinical environment due to caries or trauma, in accordance with the measurements taken, and bonding them to the relevant tooth with special adhesives. These fillings are highly resistant to chewing force.
